Founded in 1874, CUCC is one of the oldest cycling clubs in the world, and has a rich history to match.

The Cambridge University Cycling Club has developed some of the UK’s finest cyclists, with Olympians and former World and National Champions starting their competitive careers with CUCC. The club also competes annually against Oxford in a 25 Mile Time-Trial Varsity match, as well as at BUCS and other National competitions.

CUCC strives to continually develop new riders, and bring new people into our fantastic sport.

However, the barriers to participation and access into cycling have never been higher. The club supports and gives subsidies where it can, but generous donations from Alumni would help lower the cost barrier into riding and competing. For example:

£10 could help a new rider enter their first-ever race
£20 would help subsidise a Cambridge Bursary student to attend one of our dinners
£50 would cover the cost of a CUCC Jersey, allowing riders to represent Cambridge across the world
£150 would help cover the cost of an Aerodynamic Skinsuit, which could mean the difference between winning and losing Varsity
£300 could subsidise attendance on our Winter Training camp
£500 would allow the club to upgrade our set of Turbo Trainers, allowing all members to train regardless of the weather
£1000 would allow the club to purchase an entry-level TT bike, for promising riders to start racing on
£2000 would cover coaching costs for some of our riders to improve even further, in order to beat Oxford
Any significant donations will be handled by the Senior Committee of the club, and recurring direct debits can be used for distinct purposes if specified.
